BHS Presents- A Disappearing Number

Tickets are currently on sale for Briarcliff High School’s production of A Disappearing Number, an award-winning play created by Simon McBurney and his theatre company Complicité. Integrating innovative technology, original music, and dance, this powerful play mixes love, humor, creativity … and math.

The story of businessman who falls in love with a professor of mathematics even though he is unable to understand the equations she’s passionate about. The play was inspired by G. H. Hardy’s book The Mathematician’s Apology and his work with the genius mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, who left India for Britain as a young man to study at Cambridge University. A Disappearing Number moves between the early 20th century and the present day as it explores human connections, the persistence of true love, and the wonders of infinity.


Performances will take place in the Frances G. Wills Auditorium at Briarcliff High School on November 20, 21 and 22 (times below).
